About

Ms. Khooshnum Rohintan Daviervala has been associated with the firm since 1998.

She is a member of the Bombay Bar Association.

She handles matters for local as well as Multi-National Corporations, Private Companies, PSUs, individuals (resident and non-resident) such as jewellers, diamond merchants and other HNIs.

Her areas of practice include contentious and non-contentious litigation and general corporate advisory.

Contentious work:

She has successfully handled Income-Tax related disputes of a Multi-National Company, resisting/defending a claim of approx. Rs.350 Crores raised by the Department, succeeding before the Hon’ble Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and the Hon’ble Bombay High Court.

She handles mergers & acquisitions and winding-up matters for Corporates, property disputes, recovery suits, summary suits, partnership disputes, testamentary and intestate succession (probate, letters of administration and succession certificate), arbitrations, land acquisition, and redevelopment matters.

She also appears in matters before various courts/forums including the Hon’ble Supreme Court, Hon’ble High Court, Hon’ble City Civil Court, Hon’ble Court of Small Causes Hon’ble Magistrates Court, National Company Law Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunal, Consumer Forum, etc. and regularly appears in Arbitration proceedings for both Multinational and Indian Companies and individuals.

Non-Contentious work:

She advises clients on sale and purchase of immovable property and matters consequential thereto. Drafts and reviews a wide range of documents relating to Properties like Conveyances, Sale Deeds, Agreements for Sale, Lease Deeds, Leave and License Agreements, etc. and conducts due-diligence for issuing title clearance for properties.

She handles transactional work for Companies having all or most of their shareholding or control, outside India as well as established Indian Corporate Houses and has experience in handling mergers and amalgamations, including drafting the Scheme of Amalgamation to obtaining final orders of Amalgamation and adjudication and payment of stamp duty on the Order.

She gives opinions under various Laws, including but not limited to Companies Act 1956 and 2013, Income Tax Act, Transfer of Property Act, Labour and allied laws etc.
